Head Lice Home Remedies

At some stage in your children's lives, especially when they start school, they will become infected with head lice. It doesn't matter how much you try to prevent it, they will always somehow manage to become infested with them.

If you have your own remedy, you can make it up at any time. There is no need to leave the house, possibly having to find someone to watch children in search of help, as you already have something on hand.

The real problem with head lice is not enough studies have been done to actually prove or disprove these theories, some that have been bantered around willy nilly for centuries. We are still not sure how head lice are actually spread, due to a lack of evidence in this area.

Another common home remedy for lice is using Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline to smother lice. Although this may work, it would take a long time to completely get rid of the lice. Do not try this home remedy. You will find yourself trying to get gobs of Vaseline out of your, or the hair of your child.

Many of the home treatmenst for head lice do not use chemicals and are everyday ingredients. The idea is to asphyxiate the lice. Such things as Vaseline, mayonnaise and olive oil, left on overnight under a shower cap may do the trick, although there is no guarantee, and make sure the hair is washed out thoroughly in the morning.

One mother washed her daughter's hair with dog flea shampoo. She worked it through her hair and left it on for about an hour, then washed it off with dandruff shampoo. Another had sprayed her child's head with flea spray. She said she had never seen them die so fast.

Warm up some virgin coconut oil, let it cool down and really soak your kid's hair in it and also massage it into the scalp. Cover the head with a towel or plastic wrap. Leave it on for a few hours or even for the night. Afterward wash it with coconut oil or tea tree shampoo.

The safest home treatment for head lice is one that is contains completely natural ingredients. Steer clear from over the counter pesticide based preparations as they may not only be ineffective, but possibly unsafe.

Petroleum jelly is a very common home treatment claim to be effective for head louse. You apply it to the hair and wear a plastic hat that's well sealed around the head. Leave the petroleum jelly in your hair overnight, then, and I'm not making this up, apply peanut butter to remove the petroleum. Shampoo as normal.

Okay, so how do we get rid of head lice once we have them? Believe it or not, the easiest way, though it does take a while, is to comb out your hair each day. Get a brand new, never used comb, and just comb out your hair everyday.

The next morning shampoo it out, preferably with coconut oil shampoo of course

When you are done you need to do some effective screening and combing with a metal lice comb to get all the lice and nits out of there. After each time you use it, clean the metal lice comb with alcohol.

How to Choose Hair Conditioner

The phrase hair conditioner seems a bit broad. The main objective of people who prefer to use hair conditioners is for them to make their hair more vibrant and full of life. Maybe one's hair is thinning, too frizzy, too dry, or has been damaged. Regardless of the situation, hair conditioners should help to deal with it.

Some important method when you apply conditioning. Remove the excess water from hair after shampooing your hair. Then remove tangles from hair by combing. Rub the conditioner with your fingers on hairs. Now gently massage the hair to loosen the conditioner.

During the day however dirt and grime can stick to the sebum so the hair needs regular thorough cleaning. Ordinary soap fails to do the job. A mild quality hair shampoo contains ingredients to clean the hair which involves taking away some of the sebum.

Nourishment: Though the conditioner is already replenishing lost nutrition, for hair to grow and remain healthy and strong providing nourishment is a must. Conditioners have proteins and vitamins that are most nutritious and promote growth.

Take some conditioner in your hands and work it through your hair. For normal hair start half way up the shaft and pull through to the ends. For a dry scalp or very dry and damaged hair use it on the entire length of your hair including the scalp.

Choosing the right conditioner is an excellent way to protect your hair while achieving the shine, style, and moisture level that you are looking for. When choosing conditioner, it is always recommended to select one that serves to complement the shampoo you are using. While they do not have to be the same brand, they should serve the same function when it comes to moisturizing.

You could always choose to buy a shampoo, but there are homemade recipes that are cheaper to make and all natural. Oily hair shampoo and conditioner target the excess oil that causes the hair to become oily. On the other side, there are dry hair shampoo recipes which restore the moisture and prevent dry, flaky skin of the scalp.

The most commonly used topical proteins used in hair products are rice and corn. Corn has a midrange molecular weight and is excellent for adding shine and making hair feel smoother. Rice protein, with lower molecular weight, more easily penetrates the shaft to rebuild and strengthen damaged hair.

There are a wide variety of styling products available in the market today and it is only natural for people to start experimenting with products that claim to deliver long lasting and prominent results. From curling irons to straighteners, electric curlers, mousses, leave in conditioners, gels, sprays and other styling gadgets and gels, it could become a bit daunting to make a wise selection.

For thick, dense or styles that lack or have lost moisture, Emu Oil is what we recommend.  Used alone or in a conditioning blend, Emu Oil is a key component for increasing hydration.  For dryness, it raises the moisture content of the follicles adding volume and definition to otherwise limp and lifeless locks.

Hair Loss Remedies

Once you have determined the cause of your hair loss, you will find there are a variety of hair loss remedies – some natural, some medical, and some cosmetic. Your dermatologist can help you find the right solution. Over the past few years, medical treatment of hair loss has grown tremendously – in some cases, learning what causes the hair loss enables drugs to be made that can stop the hair loss before it happens.

Finasteride (propecia) is a female hair loss remedy that has been approved for hair loss treatment in men. But it has recently been found to help improve hair loss problems in women when combined with oral contraceptives. Propecia has some side effects, albeit only 3%. Often, these side effects subside after constant use.

And as it is not a disease of itself it does not necessarily need to be treated. Whether you decide to look for some form of hairloss remedy is purely a personal decision based on personal and aesthetic considerations. Some people seem to see hair loss as a condition that needs to be treated as cancer needs to be treated, simply because it is there.

Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss. Since it may be an early sign of a disease, it's important to find the cause so that it can be treated properly and fast. Hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes.

Hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, like lupus erythmatosis or type two diabetes. If the thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, hair may fall out and treating thyroid disease will help remedy this. Hypothyroidism can cause it too, especially the thinning of the outer third of the eyebrows.

Recognizing and properly treating an infection may help stop the loss. If the thyroid gland is either overactive or underactive, hair may fall out. However treating thyroid disease will remedy this. Poor digestion, parasites and nutrient deficiencies such as iron or biotin deficiency shouldn't be overlooked as possible causes.

Ginger

This natural hair loss remedy is well-respected in herbal study since ages because of its ability to stimulate the hair follicles, hence to promote hair growth. It is also useful for preventing hair to become thinner. It is rich with fatty acid, so it also helps preventing premature hair loss and premature baldness.

Olive oil derivatives, with soaked shoe flowers make effective fragrant hair tonics. Infusions made of Avocado leaves cures most of the scalp-related problem ending in hair loss. It is predominantly due to its astringent property, which makes it an effective hair loss remedy.

One of the easiest things to remedy is neglect. It is necessary to commit yourself to correct care and attention of your hair. Give your scalp a massage and do not apply too many chemicals and avoid overexposure to the sun. As often as possible, shampoo your hair, as keeping it clean is a great benefit.

A natural hair loss remedy is a mixture of shana seeds with a couple of drops of essential oil like coconut or sesame oil for being made into a paste. It can be regularly added to the scalp for augmenting hair growth.

How to Choose the Right Hair Shampoo

Shampoos are cleaning agents rather like ordinary soaps. Indeed, shampoos in the past were soap based, but these had the disadvantage of being affected by hard water. They caused a scum deposit and made hair look dull. Modern shampoos contain synthetic detergents and work equally well in hard or soft water.

It would be nice if every hair loss shampoo was exactly the same and worked the same but they don't so you will need to experiment and find the one that works for you. Don't give up just because one doesn't work, and it's always a good idea to buy the smallest quantity available at first then if it doesn't work you aren't stuck disposing of a bunch of shampoo.

There are some products which appeal only to hair fashion. They tend to merely increase the volume and make your hair look thicker and fuller. There are also shampoos that have real vitamins and minerals that would supposedly make your scalp healthier and keep your hair stronger. These are deep-cleansing and stimulating products.

One mistake that you do not want to make is to think that all you have to do is pick up a bottle of shampoo and think it is going to work. As you will find in any business niche, there are products that take the trouble to get it right, and there are ones that are merely trying to cash in on a fad.

Another general hair care idea is rinsing your hair with cold water. A lot of people do not think to rinse their hair with cold water while they are taking a hot shower. Before you apply the shampoo to your hair the water should be warm or hot in order to open the pores in your head and when you are rinsing the shampoo out of your hair you should use cold water to close those pores back up.

Massage Olive Oil into your scalp three nights a week, leave on overnight and wash out the next morning with a mild shampoo.  To get a shampoo without the chemical, visit your health food store.  Ask for assistance and tell your helper that you are looking for a shampoo that contains green tea, sage, saw palmetto, pumpkin seed, and nettle.  Anything natural will only improve the shampoo.

Genetics: While genetics plays a really strong role in healthy hair, it doesn't mean that you will go completely bald and that there is nothing you can do about it. There are many great treatments out there that will help you regain the hair that you have lost, such as hair loss shampoo.

Natural shampoo can be found in liquid and bar varieties. Liquid varieties of shampoo are very common but the bar varieties are not as well known. The bar shampoo is very convenient. It is great for traveling! You cannot spill it. It will not open and mess up the contents of your suitcase. Do not worry, you will not have to abandon the bar shampoo at airport security!
