At some stage in your children's lives, especially when they start school, they will become infected with head lice. It doesn't matter how much you try to prevent it, they will always somehow manage to become infested with them.

Leave the petroleum jelly in your hair overnight, then, and I'm not making this up, apply peanut butter to remove the petroleum. Shampoo as normal.
Okay, so how do we get rid of head lice once we have them? Believe it or not, the easiest way, though it does take a while, is to comb out your hair each day. Get a brand new, never used comb, and just comb out your hair everyday.

When you are done you need to do some effective screening and combing with a metal lice comb to get all the lice and nits out of there. After each time you use it, clean the metal lice comb with alcohol.
